Berry Cool!

Yesterday, I got what I thought at first was just another email trying to convince me to spend money on a sale that's not really much of a sale, but actually turned out to be a pretty useful email from Barney's New York!

I browsed through the shoe category in the sale section and saw a huge selection of beautiful shoes, but none that I'd actually spend that kind of money on. I'm pretty used being disappointed every time I browse Barney's sales, so I just moved onto the next category: purses & accessories. Again, cute but no, no. no.

Just as I was about to navigate away, I stumbled across this cute 3.1 Phillip Lim "Berry" clutch/wallet! What? 60% off!? I had to have it. We all know I needed an upgrade from my old wallet. (That L.A.M.B. one didn't work out bc it was just too large for me.) I tried putting it into my cart right away, but sure enough, it was out of stock. I was pretty disappointed and a little mad that it was still posted on the site if it was out of stock. What a tease!

I then desperately called the Barney's store nearby, hopeful that they would have one in stock for me to pick up. They had ONE! I asked to put it on hold, but the SA said they don't normally hold sale items... I think he then said he would hold it for me anyway, but I immediately blurted "I'll buy it over the phone!" He was happy to hear that, and then SOLD. I have a new wallet.

The SA even gift wrapped it for me when I went to pick it up! After all, it is a gift to myself.

Even puppy likes it already!

Everyone, meet my new 3.1 Phillip Lim Berry wallet/clutch.

This item is actually very multi-functional. It serves so many purposes that my friend and I came up with last night when obsessing over it.

Here are the top 5 we came up with:

1. Wallet- Keeps your shit organized.
2. Clutch- With the attached wristlet and extra compartment for phone/etc., it's easy to carry around with you when you don't feel like bringing your whole purse.
3. Deadly Weapon- The spikes on it are heavy, durable and sorta sharp. You can really hurt someone with this in a dark parking garage at night.
4. Hand/Body Massager- With its spikes being kinda sharp but not too sharp, you can use this to enhance feeling when massaging yourself or someone else.
5. Meat tenderizer- Put it on a stick, and doesn't it have some resemblance to this?

60% off and so multi-functional. What a deal! Must've been my lucky day! I'm "berry" excited about my Phillip Lim "Berry!" Hahahahah

EDC

My first time attending Electric Daisy Carnival!

Super fun, danced A LOT.

I definitely wasn't dressed as crazy as everyone else there but I tried a little bit to get out of what I'd normally wear and get into character. People were wearing neon lingerie, furry boots, fishnet stockings, masks, 'kandi' bracelets, and all kinds of crazy stuff you can imagine. Definitely felt like I was in another world. Loved all the costumes! As for me, I opted for something I'd be comfortable jumping around and walking in. The craziest thing I had was probably the foxtail attached to my pouch I got from a boutique in Shibuya 101... and it's not that crazy.

Forever 21 loose tank, neon bandeaux top and feather necklace, GAP pink shorts, PacSun belt (I don't know why I have this), H&M Hello Kitty socks, cat printed Converses, leather bracelet from Venice Beach, Zara pouch, foxtail from Tokyo

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Dad's day to all the hardworking dads out there!

I guess the hand-on-hip model behavior of mine came at an early age.

We are the Champions!

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for being the 2011 NBA Champs!

All the dedication, staying up late to watch the games, and waking up for work the next day hating myself finally paid off!

We love our MVP! "Dirkalicious!"

"Ohana" means family!

My little cousin used to repeat this line all the time, after watching Disney's Lilo and Stitch. I remember when he and I were little, (I'm 4 years older) he followed me around everywhere. Now that he's all grown up and joined to the marines, I don't get to see him as often. :( He drove up to LA from San Diego to meet me for a day while I was visiting. How sweet of him!

Little cousin Jay and me. We totally don't look related at all, but we're really first cousins (mom's side). I guess there's a little resemblance in the way we act. Haha. We both love to sing and dance and act stupid (a lot of times in public).

We went to Urth Caffé for lunch, where a friend had taken me last time I was in town. It's a cute little place and I really love it! Jay bought me and my other LA cousin (I have like 50 real first cousins) lunch. Yum!

They have these green tea drinks there, that are so good! Jay likes the smoothie one, I prefer iced. So refreshing! After lunch... shopping on Robertson (freakin' obsessed with LF Store), Galleria, then dinner at Road to Seoul. We did damage... everywhere we went.

[little] black dress

Going out in San Francisco is cold! Good thing I brought this 3/4 sleeve lace overlay dress with me for a night out! It didn't keep me super warm, but any extra layer over a tiny skin tight little black dress helps! We dined at a very interesting restaurant called Asia SF. They have very hot used-to-be-men serving you. They're voluptuous and just... hot. The food is just okay but the atmosphere and the shows they put on are worth it to go once for the experience. Plus, anywhere you go with 9 girls in your party is a blast!

Kimchi Blue black lace overlay dress (Urban Outfitters), Forever 21 inside tube slip and necklace, bracelet from random shop in LA Fashion District, Guess pumps, Louis Vuitton clutch.

Lace

I attended a really cute wedding this past weekend here in Dallas. I don't know where all my clothes go after I shop, because I always feel like I have nothing to wear. Luckily, a couple weeks ago, I picked this dress up off the clearance rack at Nordstrom Rack, not remembering that I had a wedding coming up. I wasn't sure how I felt about it... I didn't even try it on. All I knew was that it was Diane von Furstenburg, on the clearance rack, and that I liked the lace detail on the shoulders. It was marked down, and then plus an additional 75% off the last marked price, so why not? I knew I could put it to use at least once sometime in the future... and I did!

I always feel a little vain taking photos of myself (alone) in the mirror, but I was at home alone and really didn't want to bring my rather large camera out to the wedding... It surprisingly fit snug into my lambskin Banana Republic clutch, but the lens was bulging out... a little embarrassing, I'd say. Plus, I'm already way behind with photo-uploading from previous trips and events so it was sort of a relief leaving it at home for once. One less thing to worry about!

Diane von Furstenburg dress, paired with Banana Republic lambskin clutch and Guess nude pumps.
No jewelry because I wanted the lace to stand out.

Vamos a Cozumel!

Some friends and I went on a cruise recently to Cozumel, Mexico. The only city I'd been to in Mexico was Puerto Vallarta, but Cozumel is WAY better, imo. And when I say "some friends," I mean like 40 people or more, a combination of my friends, friends' friends, etc. It was a little crazy but so much fun! I have SO many pics from the cruise but to make it easier, I'll focus on actual Cozumel photos.

Clear blue skies and water, qué perfecto!

Look how white the sand is!
(And us!)

And of course... when do we NOT do jumping pictures? I think I can jump higher in Mexico, no? Check this one out from PVR '09! Skillz.

Ran into this one while duty free shopping! 2 bottles of Crown Royal for $32? Yes, please!

Also stopped by "Tres Amigos" restaurant for a snack. Yummmmm

AND..... BEST BEST BEST part of the trip! Everyone, meet Louis (like Louis Vuitton, hehe so meant to be). Isn't he sweet??? I want him as a pet. :(

Victoria's Secret bandeau bikini top, Target high waisted bottoms, Forever 21 high waisted black shorts, Urban Outfitters sunglasses and straw boater hat, F21 sheer white button down, Reef flip flops

More pics coming soon!
