Maybe just a half a drink more...

Theyskens' Theory dress' first appearance out... from my recent Barney's haul! It looks much longer on me than on the model on the website but I think longer makes it okay to wear in the winter-time. Usually, I don't wear things out that I just buy (I don't know why!), but this one made it out just exactly 7 days after the purchase.

This hi-low dress is cool because it's kind of backwards-ish. Usually, the recent trends have been short in the front, long in the back. This one is longer in the front and shorter in the back. And it's super comfy and I think that most people would think that the back is sexay!

More Art

H&M printed silk dress, GAP metallic silver belt, HUE tights, Christian Siriano for Payless booties (also seen here), BCBG MaxAzria necklace (last seen here)

I go to several art events a year, so I like to stock up on art event-worthy outfits. I had this piece laying around for about 2 months and I thought it'd be a fun print to wear out for Artopia. I also decided that since I had that necklace laying around in front of me from the last time I wore it, it would also work with this dress to add some bling. Too bad it was rainy outside and sort of killed my hair a little bit.

Artopia is an annual event that combines art, fashion, food, alcohol and fun into one event. I went with several friends and had an awesome time, even though I didn't drink much! I had had enough the night before and couldn't handle another night of it! Either way, still good times, as usual!

Bishop Arts

Blouse from Saks 5th Avenue, H&M suede/cotton blocked leggings, Luxury Rebel booties (last seen here), Charlotte Russe necklace, 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Edie' bag (seen on celebs here), Rayban sunnies

Took a long drive down to Oak Cliff not too long ago to visit the Bishop Arts District. By long drive, I mean something someplace still in Dallas, but outside my 15 mile radius comfort zone. The area has some small boutiques, consignment stores, and some restaurants. You can find some really strange, but cool things around here. It was my first time and it was a pretty good experience... Just cold outside!

Stocking Stuffer

Urban Outfitters sweater dress, Kelsi Dagger thigh high boots, BCBGMaxAzria jeweled necklace, Banana Republic clutch

The holidays are right around the corner and I should be wearing things that are more festive. Well, I love to wear black. Most of my staple pieces are black. Uhh... you can wear black boots more than any other colored boots, am I right? Still, this doesn't explain why I need 54375619 pairs of black boots... many of which are the same style, length, and material. But HEY. None of them are EXACTLY the same, ok? ;) Anyway, I'm saying this because the ones I'm wearing above are almost identical to another pair I own... same brand, material and length... but slightly different cut and style. I was going to return one, but never got around to it and now, a year or more later, it's too late. Go figure. This is my first time wearing this one and I love it. Super comfy and I think it makes your legs look longer = sexier. Duh! Haha every girl should get a pair of thigh highs. And no, they are NOT the same as over-the-knee boots or knee highs (I still love all my knee highs, too!). You need them all. They're just for different looks! Loving mine and they keep my legs warm, too! Better than wearing pants! :D

And anyone interested in these (worn this once) or the evil twin of these thigh highs (BNIB), let me know! I found them both for a steal and am giving up one for exactly what I paid!

Reunited!

... and it feels so good! :-)

3.1 Phillip Lim shirt dress, Miu Miu sandals

Old friends reunite at a 1 year old's birthday party. As I've learned, when you're older and are working, it's harder to find time to hang out with friends. We 3 on the right were all bridesmaids for the one on the left years ago. Always so nice getting together with old buddies and talking about new things. Love!

Before it was finished

H&M black dress and striped tights, Rebecca Minkoff MAC clutch, clover necklace from eBay

This was taken about a month before my new house was finished. Now, with the wood floors installed and some furniture, it looks so different (imo)! Yay, I'm now officially a homeowner! Not so 'yay" about my homeowners association fees. Yikes!

Black n Gold... Coincidence?

Our first night out in Vegas and all the girls show up at our meeting place in black and/or gold... unplanned! We were definitely thinking on the same wavelength and it turned out not too shabby! When I travel, I like to pack as light as I can, so I often bring accessories to match several outfits, instead of different accessories for each one (especially shoes and bags!). I think other expert travelers can feel me on that one. It is definitely a PITA packing your suitcase back up on the way home after doing some shopping on vacay.

Betsey Johnson little black dress, Guess nude pumps, Louis Vuitton Eva clutch

We went to Marquee at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Lots of fun... and some creepers... The hotel is really pretty inside! It's our new favorite hotel on the strip! Vegas, we'll be back!

Chillin'

Forever 21 poncho (last seen here) and necklace, Zara denim, L.A.M.B. clutch, Michael Kors watch

And cheers to another chill night on 6th! Yes, I go there quite often... every chance I get, in fact. Cheap drinks, trailer food and a good time? I'm in!

Still some sunshine left

Dress from Macy's Impulse section (forgot the brand!), Antonio Melani gold sandals

I love when it's sunny but not too hot outside. This was at the Arboretum in Austin, TX. We were there helping my cousin take her senior portraits so I had my sis snap a few of myself while we were there. Hehe.
Best weather!

Work it.

Urban Outfitters striped tank, GAP cardigan, A&F denim, over-the-knee tights from Tokyo (which never slouch, btw!!), Kelsi Dagger oxford wedges, Michael Kors ceramic watch, Rebecca Minkoff MAC clutch/crossbody

Another night out on 6th Street in Austin, TX. Very chill scene so you can basically wear whatever you want. These photos were taken after several visits to different bars and even more drinks. It was so good to be back in Austin, one of my favorite U.S. cities. So much food, shopping and fun! Food trailers are the best!

Gotta have flow

Wore this number to my cousin's wedding a year or two ago, before I really started blogging that much. The dress hadn't been photographed but just a few times so I thought it wouldn't hurt to bring it out for a night again! It was deep in my closet but still felt so fresh and new.

BCBG MaxAzria chiffon gown with sequin detailing, Guess pumps, vintage cameo necklace

I really liked the way the dress flowed. Girls, if you want to try something different than your good ol' little black cocktail dress, try a nice comfy, flowy gown to your next event. IMO, they're super comfortable and will bring out your feminine features!

No Tricks, Just Treats

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! This year, since the engagement, we didn't have that much time to come up with something crazy. We decided about 2 days before what we were going to be. Plenty of good ideas were thrown out but we had to keep in mind that we'd only have 2 days to prepare. We decided on something pretty vague so that anyone who wanted to join could also be in! Cowboys and Indians! I loved it!

Me and my cowgirl friend (Can you tell she's supposed to be Jessie from Toy Story 3?) hehe

My cowboy! Bang Bang! HAHA

Four little Indians!

I got this dreamcatcher in Ibiza, Spain 5 years ago and finally got to bring it out! One of my favorite souvenirs!

All of these photos were taken at home before we headed out to a block party in our local gayborhood. It was pretty fun, just soooo packed. I wouldn't have minded it but with a group of 15+ people, it was a PITA to get around. Once we found a place to drink, there we stayed and all hell broke loose after that. Lol needless to say, I spent a lot of time the next day in bed. =X

Happy Halloween, everyone! I hope everyone is blessed with just treats and no tricks this year! :-)

My costume: Forever 21 low headband, earrings and suede shorts, fringed top from Nordstrom Rack, Steven by Steve Madden 'Intyce' boots, feather necklace from dollar store, colorful feathers from Michaels Arts & Crafts, leather cuff bracelet from Venice Beach, dreamcatcher from Spain, homemade arm cuff thingy

She's country

Forever 21 crochet layered top and necklace, J Brand denim shorts, Roxy suede cowboy boots, Michael Kors ceramic watch, Tylie Malibu hobo bag, Rayban sunnies

It's that time of year... State Fair of Texas! :-) That one time of year you can eat all the fried food you want without feeling guilty! I went on UT/OU weekend, the most crowded weekend of the month, with all the Texas and Oklahoma fans in town. You'll hear fans from rival schools screaming at each other. It's a pain in the rear getting around, but still fun.

All girls in Texas own at least one pair of cowboy boots and this is the most popular time and place to sport them. I got mine years ago, in college, for only $5 at PacSun! Remember that store? Haha! They were marked down from $100 some dollars! I got one pair, and my friend got 2 pairs! Why not, right? I'm now on a mission for some red leather ones (although my friends who are UT fans might abandon me). Yee-haw!

Hard at work :)

Fashion for a Passion is an awesome annual event where artists bring their talents together to give back to a cause. Against The Grain Productions raised over $20k from this event for supported orphanages, their artistic scholarship, and community outreach programs. I'm so glad to be a part of this special event. It feels so good to give back to the community! Please visit ATG's blog to read more!

3rd annual Fashion for a Passion

Kensie white cheetah print brocade dress, F21 nude jewel necklace, Guess pumps, bracelet from LA's Fashion District

Just a preview of ATG Against The Grain Productions' 3rd annual Fashion for a Passion charity event! These are some photos my friend took during the show... I didn't have my camera on me all night since I was working the event (yes, that black wire hanging on me is a walkie-talkie, lol). Still waiting on professional photos so I can post more, especially of the collections showcased. 'Twas a great night with so many different artists coming together to raise funds for Asian orphanages. We are so thankful for everyone's support of our cause! A more detailed update later this week!
